Resident Advisor/Coordinator of Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program
Dr. Irene B. Kyamwine, MD, MPHM, is a Medical Doctor and Public health specialist, with skills and proficiency in epidemiology, public health practice, research and medical coding. She is experienced in identifying and responding to emergencies of public health concern including outbreaks of both infectious and non-infectious diseases.
She has the ability to create written materials and communicate findings. Dr. Kyamwine has served in both governmental and non-governmental organizations in different capacities; as a medical doctor, Medical incharge, epidemiologist and program officer. She is a graduate of the Advanced Field Epidemiology Program (Advanced-FETP).
Dr. Kyamwine has a special dedication to building capacity across levels of the health sector. She has been active in several national capacity building projects including COVID 19 surveillance and response, medical certification of cause of death, HIV care guidelines among others.
Currently as Resident Advisor/Coordinator of Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program, Dr. Kyamwine continues to build the capacity of frontline health workers to effectively identify and respond to public health emergencies at the source.
