- Conduct operational, implementation and public health emergencies research
- Promote collaboration and coordination among MDAs and partners in One Health, public health emergencies and other emerging areas
- Monitor trends, determinants, and risk of priority communicable and non-communicable diseases in the country
- Build a critical mass of skilled workforce for health security personnel development in critical areas of field epidemiology, laboratory leadership, health informatics, health economics and implementation science
- Build infrastructure for national health security
