Dr. Ario, Director of the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH), on 14 November 2024 welcomed Steven Becknell, a distinguished representative from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for an official courtesy visit at the NIPH offices. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity for the two leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for closer collaboration. High on the agenda were discussions about strengthening public health systems, enhancing disease surveillance and outbreak response capabilities, and exploring joint initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Both Dr. Ario and Mr. Becknell expressed a shared commitment to advancing public health goals, building on existing partnerships, and working together to address pressing health challenges that affect both nations.
