According to WHO, viral hepatitis B and C affect over 300 million people worldwide causing about 1.4 million deaths a year. Hepatitis is considered the second major killer infectious disease after Tuberculosis, and 9 more people are now infected with hepatitis than HIV.

In commemoration of the World Hepatitis day, the public is urged to know, test, and treat hepatitis while the policy makers are encouraged to invest in eliminating hepatitis.
