Musene Rebecca Beatrice, BSc BS, MSc ME (Evaluating Health Interventions), Intermediate Field Epidemiology, is a Field Epidemiologist/ Public Health Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with her core interest bent towards Emergency response and management and strengthening national health surveillance systems.

Rebecca has four years extensive experience in public health M&E majorly at the Ministry of Health Uganda, under the Division of Health Information and Nutrition Division as an M&E Officer. Rebecca has participated in Health Management Information System (HMIS) reviews and Training of Trainers (ToTs), District Health Information System (DHIS2) Customization, user acceptance testing of regional pre-DHIS2 (eHMIS) rollout, Data Quality Assessments (DQAs), data cleaning, public health surveillance, Covid-19 vaccination client registration, Deworming and Vitamin A Supplementation Nutrition Bottleneck analysis, Child Health Days Supervision on Deworming and Vitamin A supplementation.

She has also participated in writing of performance/progress reports, bulletins and policy briefs, scientific and non-scientific writing and presentation, surveillance system evaluation, development of the Uganda National Nutrition M&E framework and HMIS Manual, development of the Nutrition Health sector workplans under the National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN II) multi-sectoral and Nutrition Information System (NIS) sectoral project inception meetings and implementation. She led the re-customization of the National Nutrition validation rules in DHIS 2. Conducted costing of the Nutrition program for the NDP III using the One Health App. Also, a member of the Nutrition Technical Working Group and the Nutrition M&E thematic working group.

Rebecca is currently working with the Uganda National Institute of Public Health (UNIPH)- Ministry of Health, under the Public Health Fellowship Program (PHFP) as a Trainer and mentor for the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP)- Intermediate.
