24th March, World Tuberculosis (TB) Day

The world commemorates World TB Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social, and economic consequences of TB and set up efforts to end the global epidemic. TB kills more than one and a half million people every year, with the majority of them in developing countries such as Uganda. It falls on the same day when the German medical scientist, Dr. Robert Koch, announced the discovery of the causative agent of TB in 1882.
