Doreen Birungi

Doreen Birungi, BBLT, Msc IDM, Advanced Field Epidemiology, is an epidemiologist and is currently a rapid responder under the Uganda Rapid Mortality Surveillance Project under the Uganda National Institute of Public Health. Ms. Birungi is experienced in international and domestic bio-surveillance, public health, infectious disease diagnostics, bio-security, and bio-safety. She supported the COVID 19 response and oversaw Health Care worker Infections in Uganda. Previously, she served as a Technical Surveillance Officer in the Uganda Ministry of Health. She has worked extensively in disease investigation and response, including for the Ebola virus disease, Marburg virus disease, Rift Valley fever, and anthrax among others. She is also a reviewer of a peer reviewed journal of Public Health in Africa
